Planting ferns

LeeendeanLeeendean Posts: 122
Hi there going to be buying some Dryopteris Affinis Cristata The King (Fern) today but can’t find much info on planting them in the soil. I’m going to be putting them in a shady spot in the garden but do they need bone meal in when planting for the roots??

Ferns aren't hungry plants, you can improve the soil with some compost or better still leaf mould but no need for bone meal
