What’s eating my cherries?

My cherries are being eaten as they ripen. The damage is in lines, similar to the appearance of a fruit (eg tomato) when the skin has split due to infrequent watering but it’s not that. The tree’s been netted to stop bird attacks. I have seen wood lice and earwigs on the tree. There are no slug trails. What could be doing this?
