It looks like someone played around with the color filters in Photoshop.  The indigo colors look 'flat' and unnatural.  Aged petals the exact same shade as new ones, etc.  Where did you find it?  (BBC, obviously.. but iPlayer or a still image?)
    Utah, USA.

Hard to be sure without seeing the leaves, but it looks like one of the sterile hardy geraniums - perhaps 'Orion'?
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

It's just a screenshot I took from GW's show on Friday. I don't think there were any filters or pimping. It's a deeper and bluer hardy geranium than any I have seen. Maybe it's something else.

No idea but I guess the photo (camera, light, whatever) makes it look bluer than the reality. It doesn't need to be manipulation, every device is different and light can change the colours too a lot.

Looking at the photo, my initial reaction was "Orion" as well.

Thanks. Is Orien long flowering, as it is sterile?

According to reviews on Crocus website it flowers for months  and gets up to 3ft tall. Don't have one myself only Rozanne which is shorter

Looks like Brookside, a good intense blue. I used to have it and now it's a massive clump in my mum's garden.
