Greenhouse Air Conditioning Unit

Has anyone any experience of using an air conditioning unit to maintain the temperature in a greenhouse? Temperatures in excess of 50deg C. Thanks.

If it helps, I have a solar panel driving 12V fans which blow air into the bottom of the gable end opposite the door.  They help a lot - the stronger the sun, the faster they spin.

Seems like a very complicated and expensive way to control temp in a greenhouse. Air conditioning works best in a sealed environment which few greenhouse can meet. Unless you already have one lying around which you can install correctly it is probably easier to emulate Bob's method combined with automatic vents at roof and ground level.
