Heleniums are usually pretty bomb proof but l agree it does look a bit sad. Had it been flowering okay with healthy green leaves ?
Have you been using some kind of lawn treatment?  I am wondering if that's had some kind of effect but that is a long shot.
  • They can look like this is if they have dried out at the root. I would water, possibly try a feed with seaweed, and cut off all the spent flowers. Is it Moerheim Beauty? H. 'Sahins' Early Flowerer', although orange and yellow rather than red, is a superior plant as it flowers all summer from June to October with regular dead-heading.

yes that could be the case, no rain for 7 days and i have been away and couldn’t water. it never look great - i bought it in sales and hoped it well recover better...didn’t have a sign anymore, so not sure which one it is. It’s raining cats and dogs today, maybe, should i cut all flowers off tomorrow? Just the head or further down? sorry never had a Helenium before...:-)

And AnniD, yes i had lawn treatment, it looks terrible, i wished i would have waited until autumn... It shouldn’t effect the Helenium as it’s not to close on a raised bed. As i said in my other reply i got it in a bargain corner, leaves have been a bit yellowish from the start.... thanks

No problem, it was a bit of a long shot :) .
Personally l would cut the flower heads off and concentrate on getting it established.  You might find this of use
