How do you persuade a lemon tree to flower?

I've had my lemon tree for several years but over the winter of 2018 it was quite badly frosted. I cut it back and it has regrown very successfully but hasn't flowered again. How can I persuade it to give flowers and fruit once more? I usually feed it once a month with summer/winter food, depending on the time of year and it looks really healthy.

Have you got the plant in a sunny area? During the summer months they need a lot of warmth & full sun. Pruning branches out at the wrong time can also delay growth.
  • Yes it's in full sun and by the house wall too. I haven't cut back anything this year and it looks really good, just no flowers. I'm feeding it with summer food at the beginning of each month.

I think just need to wait a while longer. Flowers will form on branches that are between 1-2 years old. They don't grow that fast, and if as you say you pruned back hard in 2018, it may still be trying to grow back to a decent size shrub to start flowering again.
  • Thanks for the info. I'm happy to wait.
