Clematis Armandii

I recently bought 2 Clematis Armandii online and when they arrived they looked very unhealthy e.g. quite woody with browning leaves. I have planted them up anyway and will see if they improve, just wondering if this is common? or should I complain to the company I bought them from?

    You're unhappy with them, so I'd say you really should complain.
