Probably powdery mildew on the canes.  I had some on my newly purchased black current, and I treated it to a milk solution (30% milk and 70% water) sprayed on the tops and bottoms and all surfaces.  It's really a preventative, but I feel it kept it from spreading.  And it didn’t harm the plant.  Research says it's best done in full sun, something about the chemical reaction with the fungus with milk fat and UV?

Make sure you water from below, like with a hose direct onto the soil and no water on the leaves.  Also make sure your watering deep and constant to need - do a finger test daily to see if it's moist an inch down into the soil.

Do you have space to get it into the ground?  I know it is a patio variety.. but I feel you'll have less powdery mildew issues next year if you can plant it out.
