Which plant to move?

I inadvertently planted three shrubs far too close to one another. A rose, a lilac and an apple blossom. I want to know which one (or ones) of the three would respond best to being moved. The apple blossom has shot up this year and lilac flowered for the first time. The rose is not flowering as prolifically as i should. I dont want to halt the plants' progress but equally they are all squashed together which is no use. Advice welcome.

If you wait until autumn I would suggest moving the rose. Done properly it will do no harm

I agree ... move the rose in the autumn.

How close together are the apple and the lilac though?
If they're too close, they won't do terribly well either.

I would move the one which would then give the biggest distance between the other 2. There is no point moving 1, if the other 2 are still too close together.

And what kind of apple? It could be crab apple,  a variety grafted on a dwarfing rootstock or a straight forward apple of some variety on its own roots. They all grow to different sizes and this will affect your decision.

Not an apple then but a shrub often used for hedging.

I think you should take a clear picture of the 3 plus one further back showing their position overall in your garden and then we can give better advice.

Ah - totally different from an apple. It helps if we know exactly what the plants are  :)

A photo would be very helpful, as @Obelixx says. If they're all too close, it may be more complicated than just moving one  ;)
