Honeysuckle and Rose Training

So, I've almost finished my garden renovations for the year and am looking to change and add to the planting in the spring. There's a rose and a honeysuckle I'd really like but I'm not sure if it's possible to train them the way I'd really like to.
The rose I'm looking to get is Canary Bird and I'd like to grow it so that it covers the fence (minus the water feature which will be moved).
The honeysuckle I'd like to get is Lonicera Tellermanniana and I'd also like it to cover the fence but with the roots in the shadiest corner.
Is it possible to train either of these in the way I'd like or is it just a pipe dream?
