Apricot tree wounds

Hi all, been a while I've had to ask for help, but have noticed my apricot tree has wounds which were not there last year. Can anyone let me know what it is and what I have to do. Tree is 3 years old in my garden, doing well but never given fruit.

That looks like bacterial canker. RHS info. here:
Cutting out all affected wood is the only real treatment, but doing that looks as though you will lose a large part of the tree.  However, if you don't do that, the canker will eventually 'ring' that section, everything above will die and the canker will move down and affect the main trunk, eventually killing the tree.  Not great news, I know.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

I will go and look at it again.  I could cut the trunk and upwards half of the tree would remain. But I have read the link and the tree does not show leaves with shot holes it looks healthy. I will look again.
