Lawn renovation

My lawn needs lots of TLC - lots of weeds in it causing issues.

My plan of attack is as follows:-

1. Spray off the weeds with something like Weedol Lawn weedkiller now
2. End of August - apply general fertilizer
3. September  (1 week later) - aerate and scarify, then apply lawn top soil
4. Finally - overseed

is that a good plan? any comments?

I'd do 2 and 3 the other way round.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • How long would I need to leave it before applying the top soil and the fertilizer?

If you use a weedkiller of any kind, it's best to leave for around 6 weeks before trying to grow anything. Otherwise, any residual product will prevent germination.
