According to those that know ( not me😁) its an un pollinated fruit. It happens alot on courgettes.  I use a paint brush to pass pollen from flower to flower every other day ( with toms too) even though mine are F1, just in case. Hope this helps.
  • Thank you, yes is an all female plant so supposedly no need to cross pollinate but will give it a go 😊

Its that or water/feeding I suppose,  its always one or the other.🙄🙂
  • I did wonder if it might be over watering, never grown them before...so think I’ll cut down on the watering front first and see what happens.  Thank you ☺️

Cucumbers are very thirsty plants, I water every other day half a watering can between four plants if that helps, and tom feed once a week.😁
  • Thank you, that’s a great help - I’m over watering!!!!!

The other reason cucumber fruit do that is if the overall plant is too large. Cucumbers will keep throwing fruit out as they grow, but they can easily grow larger than their pot (roots) can support in terms of fruit, and so they do the equivalent of a June drop. To avoid, pinch out the growing tip. The plant will then start setting fruit properly again.
  • Thank you, so let me get this right, if I pinch out the tip even though some of the baby fruits have died they will grow again?  Or am I misunderstanding your comment 😊

No Fiona , sterelitza means the plant will start growing new fruit to replace the dead ones🙂
