As long as they're in full sun and well drained soil they can cope.  I had a lavender hedge at the top of a sleeper retaining wall in my Belgian garden and it coped with periods of -25C several winters in a row and lots of rain and snow too but a bit warmer at -10 or -15C.

Mine are! I've got 2 different ones and they've withstood being buried in snow, -12 and the Beast from the East so they must qualify :)
Don't remember what they are though, they've been there donkey's years.

I am no lavender expert but it looks like intermedia, not angustifoila, and not hidcote. It could be 'Hidcote giant' which is an intermedia.
I would say any angustifolia would be good. I really like Downderry Nursery for lavender - you can check them, at least to read about possible varieties: https://downderry-nursery.co.uk/shop/hardy-lavender/angustifolia/

I agree with @edhelka. The flowers also looks too pale , Hidcote is quite a rich deep purple rather than “lavender” colour

I was at a nursery today and what they are selling as Hidcote matches the description given by Butterfly66.  I think I'm a few years too late to demand a refund, even if I could remember where I bought them.
