Old inherited rose looks poorly

Morning all. We recently moved house and inherited some roses which look a little sick. I've looked online, but its very confusing! There has only been about 10 flowers bloomed. They smell amazing, and i think they've been in the garden a long time. I have given the rose feed twice this year. Can someone help, I'd hate to lose them. Thank you all.

I'd say keep doing what you're doing now.
    Devon.
  • Thank you. The roses are about 5 feet tall. When and how much should i prune them?

It looks like one of the 'old roses', the way the petals form quarters in the centre of the flower. Most of them require little in the way of pruning, though they can be cut back a little in the spring if necessary.
Without knowing more about your rose, especially when and how long it flowers, it is not easy for me to say more, but you could have a look at Peter Beale's or Trevor White's roses and see if you can find a good match.

You could also post pictures on the rose thread - there's some very knowledgeable rosarians on the forum!
  • Thank you. It started flowering early June, I've had a look and there's a few buds just starting to open.
