Palm seems to be dying !?

Any palm experts out there ???  I brought this : these palms from VH. When I got home I realised they had lots of white bits deep where the leaves come out . It got worse over the next 2 mths so I took it into the garden and sprayed all the white bits off. Now two more mths on its going crazy and looks as though it’s possibly harming the tree  !? 
Any ideas what it is or how to stop the spread!? And will it kill my tree !

    I will google that ... looks more like a mould ??? Not sure if it’s alive !!??

    Hopefully you will find a remedy that works for getting rid of them.  I've never had them on my houseplants myself.  Hopefully others can advise.  Good luck!
