Honeysuckle dead?

hi hello gardening experts.
as you can see my honey suckle seems to having issues with .... death?
please could anyone advise me on whether she has given up the ghost, or needs some help.
I quite honestly have no idea what to do. It is in a well spaced pot in the garden.
thanks in advance

    It's in a pot. That's the problem.
They aren't suitable for that - they need to be in the ground. Nice and damp for their feet, and room for a good root run. They're woodland plants, so need some shade.

  • Ah right! Thanks for letting me know ! Will she survive if I transfer her to the soil?

If you plant it out , and cut it back a bit, and water thoroughly, it should come away.  :)

I would cut it back to just above some lower leaves to reduce the size and weight then water it thoroughly and let that soak into the roots while you dig a decent hole.   Make sure you tease out the roots a bit so they head out into the soil and plant at the same depth.  Back fill with soil and then water thoroughly again and at least once a week till autumn - 10 litres a time poured slowly so it soaks in - or more often if you have a hot dry spell.

  • do I have to plant her in the ground? I think she’ll die!
my soil is terrible, rubble, bricks clay type! (clearly I know my soil!)I have dug the garden out and added new soil but still it all dies ☹️

Then get a pot at least twice the depth and a bit wider while you work on clearing the crap put and improving your soil..
