Geranium Macrorrhizum Ingwersen - bought online - any advice for winter for this plant?

Due to lockdown it has forced me for the first time to buy plants online. I was reluctant and sceptical but this one arrived ok.
Potted out in early July, seems to have sat up straight and likes it's position in dappled shade, and not needing much watering as suggested.
I only am not sure how much more of it (any growing any bigger or such like), I will see over this summer and Autumn?.
Plus should I move it(as is in a pot) to sheltered even more for winter?. I cannot bring it inside, unless as I only have a dark garage, where some plants will be ok but not if they want light over winter. I could cover it with my blanket breathable covers if nec. for winter.
Any advice on this one would be welcome.
Thanks in advance.
PS: It's only 5 inches high as is how it arrived.

These kinds of geraniums are hardy perennials, you don't have to do anything for them over winter, they will die back once it gets cold and then pop up again in spring.  You can mow them, trample them, ignore them, they will still bounce back and flower!  Fantastic plants.

It might do a bit more growing this summer, but it will be mostly putting strong roots down and settling in!

Thanks so much, that's all I needed to hear really. Just was convinced when I saw it online, it was what I hoped of it.
Just hard to know until I see it happen I suppose.
I do like perrenials, will probably keep it in a pot for now.
Until a few garden design ideas get sorted and I may then decide the best space for it. Even a more sunny than now spot may be ok I believe.

dead hardy as Wishywashy says but these never disappear completely, just look a bit thin. They start into growth and flower very early in the season. could ground cover in shade or half shade
