weird algae on steps

weird dark green crinkly algae on steps - disappears when dry and reappears when wet - tried scraping and cleaning to no avail - how do i eradicate? Many thanks, Debs

    Good luck with getting rid of it  :)  apparently an ancient 'thing' and only grows on poorly drained surface so it keeps coming back in one corner of my patio steps!  Learned to live with it now until it goes crispy.

  • if all else fails I'll replace the step and make sure it has run-off! I won't be beaten by something that should be blooming extinct! (fingers crossed!)

    There's a really long thread about this but to save you some time, the conclusion seems to be that washing soda (Sodium carbonate) is the only thing which works (apart from groundworks to improve drainage, that is.)
