@Lyn - your acanthus needs stress to flower. In your rich soil and moist climate all you'll get is leaves. I had the same problem in the Belgian garden. Bet it would do well here tho. I've seen it growing in dust at the base of church walls and flowering its socks off in great tall spikes.

I dug it out. The bits growing too close to the fence to dig out, I just cut off every time they sprouted until they gave up. I suppose you could use weedkiller, but I never do.

It isn't really a fuschia i think. Fuschia stays where you plant it.
