Desperate for help - Sunflower petals are wilting.

Long story short:

I had two sunflowers in a 4" pot (honestly, it was an accident, and when they grew so fast, it it was too late).

When they got large enough (about 6"+ tall), I moved them to a larger pot. About 2-3 days later, they bloomed beautifully. New, "Premium all-purpose soil" was used.

Almost a week after they were moved, the petals of the flower started wilting and falling. The rest of the flower seems healthy. I was worried I over-watered them, then worried I under-watered them.

But I've noticed little buds on them. Isn't that a positive sign?

I'm on the verge of trying to move them again to a different pot, slightly larger (because it's the only other clean pot I have) in case there's "fungus" developing... I realize many would suggest it's too late if that was the case.

Thank you in advance!!!

    Welcome to the forum. Are they on a balcony? In full sun?

    Thank you for answering!

    They are on my balcony, on the thirteenth floor. They are relatively well shielded from strong winds. They get good/direct sunlight from sunrise to about 2-4PM.

    They look like they finished flowering and are now maturing their seeds.  Just normal sunflower stuff.

    Sunflowers are annual flowers, so they will die after flowering.

    @Blue Onion and @Liriodendron
    Thank you both. I'm glad to be reassured. I'm a little surprised it never reached 2 feet in height. One of you mentioned maturing their seeds--do you think I'll actually get some? Because of how short/small they are?

    Will the "new buds" sprout new flowers?

    Thank you in advance!

    There are various varieties of sunflowers ... some types grow tall, some grow gigantic, some are of moderate height, others are shorter, some are short and some are really quite small.

    Seeds depend on if it got pollinated.  Were the bees and insects able to get to the flower?  If not, if you cut off the heads now, it may make smaller flowers out of the side shoots.
