    I think you've used a sledgehammer to crack a nut...and to me they look very close to one another. Hope you're prepared for the constant maintenance if you want to keep it at a manageable height. Far too many horror stories coming thought this forum every week.

    I agree with george. Leylandii are 100ft wannabes, and totally unsuitable for a pocket-handkerchief garden, even with constant trimming. Instant gratification, but then constant hard work to maintain.
    I would have planted something nice instead. There are plenty of flowering shrubs which would be more attractive and far less work.

    Oh well what can you do...maybe they jumped out and started digging those buggers up.
