There's a limit to how many they'd produce once a plant is mature. I'd guess that if you cut some stems right back to the ankles, there's less chance of those growing.

Well I cut iit back to the ankles 2 or 3 weeks ago and now it's coming back with a vengeance. I'm going to have to take out some of the root. Now or later? Can I dig a bit out round d the edges or do I have to dig it out and split it Above before it got really rampant. Theres two varieties there. The purple one was caught in the crossfire but it recovering well
