When we sold our last house the estate agent strongly suggested 'doing something' with the main bedroom. To be fair I am messy and the room wasn't looking good. A big tidy and a coat (or 2) of paint over the wallpaper made all the difference. Of course the new owner stripped it all out and did his own thing but it was 'kerb appeal' that mattered.
Cover in mulch and ferns - you never know how long it will take to sell.
