Waterlogged patio rose

Afternoon everyone.  Is there anything I can do to help a waterlogged patio rose?  I’ve got ‘Happy Times‘ in a very large pot and it’s been thriving all summer.  However, I’ve just got back from a few days away (socially distancing in our caravan) and discovered it sitting in a pool of water.  We’ve had a lot of rain in the area over the weekend.  We’ve drained the container and raised it onto a couple of bricks, not covering the drainage hole obviously, but is there anything I can do to help her survive.  She has got buds on but as you can see from the before and after pics, the leaves are very yellow and falling off.  Any advice much appreciated.  Thanks in advance everyone.

Thank you @philippasmith2. I’m hoping that with the new growth, I can bring her back.  As you say, @Marlorena, may suggest something 🙏 ‘Happy Times’ was bought in memory of my old dog so I really don’t want to lose her 😞

The pale leaves are a sign of chlorosis, so a dose of sequestered iron should sort that out, plus a general rose feed if you haven’t done that recently. You also have a touch of black spot, but nothing serious - clear away any fallen leaves in the pot and pick off the worst spotty ones if you find them unsightly. You can also (belt and braces) carefully scrape away the top inch or two of compost and top up with some fresh loam-based compost. All that will give it a good boost and it should soon perk up. The few days of wet feet shouldn’t do it any long-term harm. Hope that helps, but of course I defer to Marlorena if she says differently!

@Nollie. Thank you so much.  I have Top Rose but I’m not sure what sequestered iron is?  Can you enlighten me please as I’m still learning!   I’ll do everything you have suggested.  Very much appreciated 👍

@Nollie.  I’ve googled it (learned something new) and ordered Doff 15g sachets x 5 as I assume it’ll only need 1 treatment.  Thanks again for your advice.

Hi, I would think one dose would be enough, but depends on what the packet says. Mind you, I give mine less than stated, about a level teaspoon in a 6 litre can. Some of mine start looking a bit chlorotic after a while because I have very hard well water and alkaline soil and that inhibits the plant’s ability to take up iron. If the soil is still very wet, let it dry out a bit first - should happen by the time you get the iron - otherwise the iron solution might just drain straight out the bottom!

Hi @Nollie.  It’s already dried out considerably ... thankfully.  The iron should be here tomorrow so I’ll remove the top inch of compost, replace and feed with top rose and iron and keep everything crossed.  Your advice is so very much appreciated 😊
