Patchy shrivelling cactus

my cactus had been doing well with lots of new growth until a small brown patch appeared and now one whole side has shrivelled.

    Hi, thank you for your response. I am not sure about the compost I havent repotted it, I have had it around 1 year. It is next to a window but not in direct sunlight. The roots look OK I had a look as I had planned to just propagate a new plant from the leaves, but hoped I could still save it. It has had a lot of new growth this year, but before the damage happened. What would you recommend for compost to repot it?
