I found this as a small plant a few weeks ago and thought it was a weed or maybe rhubarb. I decided to leave it and see. Now it has shot up to about 3ft high and nobody I have asked seems to know. I call it 'The Triffid' for now as it grew so quickly. Any help much appreciated. Jane

Yep, sunflowers!  You will enjoy those.
A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

Probably come from a nearby bird feeder.

Oh, thank you so much.  That is good to know. I've never had sunflowers.

Some of the sunflowers I planted last year really failed to grow much ... I must’ve missed one of them when I cleared that area last autumn ...it survived the mild winter and is growing again ... 🌻
