Which poppy please!

Hi, total newbie here. We’ve had poppies self-seeding in the garden for years but now I’ve taken more of an interest I want some with the round seed heads. I saw some in a communal garden and I want some to use them for a dried display.

Can anyone tell me what variety I need please?

Thanks in advance!

Hallo Hayley, and welcome to the forum.  My garden is full of double pink poppies which I love because they're so big and blowsy and in-your-face; no doubt some people would hate them for the same reason.  They have round seed-heads, if you let me have your address in a private message, I can post you some later when they've ripened.  You can sow them any time from now until the spring, and they will grow and flower next year.  You can leave them to ripen on the plant and they will join your self-seeding community.  If you don't want them everywhere, you can cut them while they're still green and let them dry off indoors or in the shed.
