Yellowing and Rotting Pumpkins

Hello everyone! I've started growing pumpkins for the first time this year (technically winter squash, actually), and after getting very excited at seeing plenty of small green fruits I've now noticed that many of them are turning yellow and brown patches are appearing.  The fruits are about 4cm in diameter. Can anyone help? 😕

Too wet and or insufficient pollination. Pick them off, plenty of time for  better pollinated flowers.  When you have a fruit, put something under it like a brick, to keep it off the soil.

Yes they're not getting pollinated. I've had some pumpkins grow to about 6 or 7 cm across and then rot and fall off due to insufficient pollination. Somtimes the flower gets a bit of pollen to start swelling but then it peters out.

Thank you. I was wondering what I've been doing wrong!

I am having the same problem with my courgettes they grow to about 3" long then the flower drops of,and if you don't keep your eyes on them everyday the start to rot at the end the flower has dropped off.

Are they the first fruits? I've found, with courgettes, that the first few sometimes rot but then they do well. Perhaps they need more ventilation and light?
