in Problem solving
Any ideas why the tips of the leaves are splitting and withering  it is planted  in  a large container. I have it now for about ten years. Is it just getting old

    You could cut off the taller piece, it will produce a new shoot from the base and grow quite quickly.

    ive been doing this with mine for several years and the two stems I have now aren’t the same ones as when I planted it (hope this bit makes sense !)

    It does make sense alright.
    Would I cut it just below where the leaves are or lower down the trunk and when would be the best time to do it. Also how long before new shoots appear.

    Personally I cut mine off at the base and that’s from where it produced tiny new shoots in about 2 months.

    i hadn’t thought about chopping it off half way down, no idea if it would shoot at the cut-off point or still down at the base, sorry.
