Mahonia was red, not any longer...

We planted our mahonia (red) two years ago, we got it for the colour. Last year and this year it's just green. Is it possible to get it red again???
Thank you.

new growth has a reddish hint to it, but I've never seen a mature one which was red

Without knowing the species or variety , difficult to answer .
Some Mahonias attain reddish/purple hues when too dry ; sometimes during the Winter months too .
If yours is now green , it's obviously found a good source of water and growing happily .

Hello Hostafan1 and Paul B3, That's a pity, I rather liked the red.... maybe wait for winter to see what happens then??? Although nothing happened in the last one.

I believe you need a cold spell for the foliage to turn red so it will only be during winter anyway.  Last winter was rather mild.
