I have a shady corner on my patio, where I plan to add containers with Hostas and Ferns. Can anyone advise me on varieties to plant that go well together.
@Beany1971 Lysimachia is very invasive, so be mindful of this. It can easily be pulled out, but you have to make sure you get all of the tiniest bits out, otherwise they will grow. It can be grown in full sun, but does better in shady, moist soil.
I use the shady corner of my north facing terrace to put houseplants outside for summer hols. There's a ficus benjamina, a ficus elastica, a Christmas cactus and a caladium enjoying plenty of light and fresh air and a bit of rain but no direct sun.
Along the house wall I have tall pots with trailing fuchsias and a Japanese maple and lower pots of hostas and at the ends which get some sun either early morning or late afternoon I have a big tub with a rose and window box of chives, parsley and basil on a stand so they're handy for the kitchen.
