Whats wrong with my cherry tree?
in Fruit & veg
I am completely new to gardening.
I planted this cherry tree in the middle of my garden When I bought it in March as it was basically a stick and I didn't think it would grow.
However it started to grow very well, so I moved it as it was in the way.
I read up that it doesn't need much sun, so I've put it in the corner of my garden.
It is still growing well, but the leaves are drooping.
We have had light showers for a couple of weeks, so I haven't watered it, and we haven't had much sun.
I just want to know if anyone knows if it's due to those combinations or if it could be something worse??
It also looks like bugs have been at the leaves.

It needs a lot more water I'm afraid - at least two watering cans full twice a week whether it rains or not (unless it's very heavy rain) for at least the next 2-3 months. The fence acts as a rain shadow which means plants too close to the fence struggle to obtain enough water. Your tree is too close to the fence as WillDB says, they grow quite fast when they've established and most will reach 6-7 metres by 4-5 metres wide (check your label for the measurements for the variety you've got).
I seen that people grow fruit trees against fences like a fan, I didn't know how close I had to get to the fence to be able to do that.
Thanks for the info, i will water it more, see If it improves. If not I will have to move it to my front garden 🙈 I didn't want to have to stress the plant out again.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
We have had a lot more sun lately and I've watered it well and it has come back to life. 👌
