Mahonia

I have just cut down a large mahonia and am left with a stubborn stump any suggestions as to how I can get rid of it please?

    You need a mattock along with someone with youth and muscles.

    Amazing timing, my husband just got this out, no youth but muscle,  digging all around it and using a saw, loppers and a crowbar and lumphammer on the roots as they were unearthed got there eventually. The plant was 40 years old.
