4 seasons lemon tree

Hi

I was wondering if anyone can help.

I bought  a lemon tree a couple of months ago and its potted in the garden.

It did lose quite a few leaves due to bad weather we had end of May.  I give it a citrus drip feed and water when needed.

Its since grown back quite a lot of leaves and a lot of flowers and i thought it started to look quite healthy again.

no sadly when the flower drops the small lemon bit it turning black on a lot of them and dropping off.

Does anyone have any tips or help.  I could be really sad to lose this tree.

thanks everyone

How often is "water when needed"?   I have a Meyer lemon, a Limquat and a Yuzu all in pots and all with a drip tray underneath.  I feed them a powdered citrus feed and water daily in hot dry spells.  Even here where temps are generally higher then the UK I keep them on south facing steps at the front of the house so they are protected from any cold air currents.   They go in the polytunnel for winter.

Have a read of this and see if it answers your questions - https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/grow-your-own/fruit/citrus

    Thank you for responding.

Its hard to say how often its watered as we have had a good month of good sunny weather where i watered it everyday.

Then we have had some rainy and very windy days.  I tend to put my finger about an inch into the soil to see if its mosit and water it based on that.

Unfortunately our garden can get windy and are waiting for it to be landscaped which when done should offer the tree some shelter.

Ive also read about small spider mites and did notice webs on the branches so not sure.   It seems it could be so many things i don't know what to do for the best.

A windy site will be very drying for the foliage, if not the pot, so I would err on the side of extra watering and rinse the foliage while you're on.   Small webs, if spider mites, also indicate the plant is too dry so give it a good shower, try and give it a less windy spot and make sure you feed it too so all the watering doesn't leach nutrients from the soil.

Mine is French and says feed for citrus plants.  I give some tomato fertiliser once fruit sets too.
