Leylandii problem

We have a 40 year old Leylandii Hedge, 10ft tall by 6ft deep by 50 yards long. It is well under control but 1/3rd of it has developed brown patches on both sides. Can i do anything about it? The books say it is due to drought but that seems hardly likely this year!.

Hello @Pamela202 , that is most probably due to the heatwave we had last year, not this year's weather patterns. Unfortunately I do not think there is much you can do about the brown patches, once leylandii starts dying off, it doesn't regenerate.
