Which plant?

I have two vacant spots in my garden and I should welcome advice and suggestions as to what to grow there.
The 1st spot is in a medium sized container in a corner against an east facing wall that only gets sun in the mid-summer period. I would like an evergreen shrub with autumn (or winter) interest, up to about 2m tall. The nearest plant to it is a climbing hydrangea and further along is a magnolia stellata.
The 2nd spot is in a large container in a corner against a south facing wall in a sheltered position.  When the sun is shining, it gets full sun until late afternoon. I would like a flowering evergreen climber, to grow up and along, above a window but nothing too vigorous.  I have removed an old trachelospermum jasminoides from that container.  The container in front/next to it has a variegated jasmine that is in flower now and is being trained up and along higher up.  Under the window and next to these containers is a raised bed.
Thank you.

It would help us to get an idea of your options if we could see photos of
    the containers and locations 😊

Thank you for your interest.  It is raining at the moment but I will post some photos tomorrow.

This is a picture showing the empty container against an east facing wall that needs a plant:

and below is a photo showing the two containers, one with the variegated jasmine and the grey one behind (with the yellow duck!) is the one needing a plant.  I hope these help but if there are any queries please ask.  Thank you.

In the first one I would go for a fern (as long as you can ensure it’s watered... I grow several large ferns in pots) ... Dryopteris affinais ‘Cristata’ ... the Golden Male Fern which would give great texture and structure.

For the larger container I’d go for Sarcococcus confusa https://www.lovethegarden.com/uk-en/article/winter-box-sweet-box-sarcococca
I know it’s not a climber that will go above that window ... but I would clip it into a formal shape echoing the shape of the container  ... the perfume drifting through that window of open just a crack on mild  summer days would be amazing.

Other folk may have other ideas ....

I had not thought of a fern but it is an interesting suggestion and I will think carefully about it.  I know what you mean about sweet box, I have Sarcocca hookeriana 'Winter Gem' in another raised bed, it has put on a lot of growth in a year.  Incidentally, immediately to the right of the grey container in what looks like an empty space, is a Deutzia hookeriana that has just been pruned.
Thank you for taking the time to offer these suggestions.
