Onion advice please

steephillsteephill Posts: 2,841
Harvested onions planted last year from sets with very disappointing results. Only one came good and actually looks like a proper onion. The rest barely grew and are more like small shallots. Can I replant these in the autumn for another try?

If you do, I'm pretty sure they'll just go to seed.  If they were autumn-planting sets, I would give heat-treated spring planting sets a try instead, next year.  I find those are far more reliable.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
