Giant Lupin Aphids

I have had a big problem with lupin aphids this year. It now seems to be under control (I used soapy water in a spray bottle, which worked a treat). My concern is that they apparently "overwinter" and I could end up with the same problem next year. Does anyone know how you get rid of the eggs over winter? Where would the eggs be? And what could I use to kill them? TIA

They don't produce eggs, they have live young.
Don't think there is anything you can do.
How can you lie there and think of England

  • Sorry, I didn't really mean the eggs. I just mean the aphids that over winter in the basal buds of the plants, that then go on to reproduce.

I had a big problem with these last year, and this year my lupins were untouched! Didn't do anything, so just lucky, I guess...
