Our water is just slightly hard and, thru the winter months, I regularly put my houseplants in the shower to rinse dust off their foliage and make sure their compost gets a good soak and then drains well. Does them a power of good.
However, I wouldn't want plants in the shower permanently as they'd be splashed with shampoo, conditioner, body soap which I don't thnk would do them any good.

Bromeliads would probably work quite well but they can have sharp points so be careful.
You can grow monstera in water, so thats an another option for something that doesn't mind getting wet. The mini version monkey mask might be better if you don't have an enormous shower.
