Will Juneberries attract wasps?

ZedsRedZedsRed Posts: 5
Hi everyone.

I'm thinking of planting an Amelanchier, possibly A. laevis "Snowflakes" or A. x grandiflora "Robin Hill" but I'm worried the berries will attract wasps, whose stings I'm extremely allergic to. Could anyone tell me whether this would be a problem please?

We have an amelanchier in our garden ... the blackbirds and the pigeons have already eaten all the berries, even before they were ripe ... they don't leave any for the wasps! We certainly don't see any wasps near ours.
    It's a lovely tree.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
