If your worried about your cats eating plants grow catnip or lemon grass in your garden and they will always head for that for something to chew on if there inclined to chew anything.
I bought a catnip plant in the hope that the local cats would be too high to think about using the garden as a litter tray. Alas that didn't work and the catnip was all but destroyed after a couple of weeks. Our cat showed very little interest in it 😂 Also planted up some cat grass which has been completely ignored

@Kili I think it depends on the variety. I bought a plant years ago labelled catnip, cats never touched it. I grew some from bought seeds, it kept getting flattened, cats adored it.......
@Kili, I think you have a normal cat! Chester did take a good sniff of it but then turned around and walked off. About a third of cats don't respond to catnip, apparently it's a genetic thing. The neighbour's cats however, were all over it rubbing themselves on it and rolling around on the ground 😂
I can't comment personally @1634 Racine , but my friend has day lillies and a cat and the cat is fine. Mind you, she says he basically only shows interest in food and sleep. Very like me
I have grown lilies, day lilies, foxgloves, honeysuckle, aconitum, laburnum etc etc and kept cats until very recently. I haven't poisoned any of them - including the stupid one who stuck his head in a vase of lilies and turned his white fur yellow with all the pollen....🙄
I did consult the vet on that one. She advised that most cats are not allergic to lily pollen but for those that are it can be very serious. Had to give him a good bath, then get him drinking as much as possible and keep him indoors for 48 hrs so I could watch for signs of distress. He was fine despite absolutely covered in pollen. Friends knew not to buy me lilies after that though!
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
i have of other poisonous plants in the garden and never worry about those. It just really got me worried this time because I have heard that even small exposure to true lillies can be deadly.
Didn’t think that applied to hemerocallis and there seems to be a lot of conflicting advice online

I would say exactly the same about foxgloves which I've also grown in thousands over the years.
Enjoy

I’m sure I read somewhere that hemerocallis were not poisonous to cats.
After having planted a few clumps this year I have just come across something saying they are just as poisonous as true lillies!
Appreciate no one is going to be giving definitive advice here but any experience or knowledge of this?
