memorial rose
in Plants
Hello all, my first post on here - I'm looking for some advise please. we lost our beloved dog Kizzie one week ago, very suddenly. she was part of our family and we are devastated by her leaving us. we have her ashes coming home this week and had the idea to have a pot plant to bury the ashes in and for us to remember her by. the thing is, i love nature/the garden etc but none of us are gardeners so we have no idea where to start with a suitable plant, although we sort of decided on a rose. any suggestions on which one please? the choice and suitability of roses are phenomenal! any tips/advice would be very much appreciated. we had Kizzie for 12 wonderful years and want her to have the acknowledgment she deserves. thank you!

As you say, there are many roses to choose from ,

Do some research into rose planting and care and ask as many questions as you like on here.
Another plant that springs to mind is rosemary, as from William Shakespeare "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance".
That needs a sunny position and well drained soil, and if you use herbs in cooking, is useful as well
I hope you find something. Again, don't hesitate to ask any questions.
There is a rose called Perfect Pet. Flowers from June all through until Autumn. Not in stock at the moment but says it will be mid July.
