Weed or plant?

Hi all,

Spotted this yesterday and I'm not sure if it's a part of the Deschampsia or a weed growing very close! It seems to have come out of nowhere!!

    I think it's a weed. I've seen certain grasses with that red centre.

    I'd vote for sedge.

    Another option is a stray bit of Tradescantia Andersoniana. They also have a similar growth habit.
