What is this plant

Hello fellow Gardeners World people.  A plant has appeared in my garden and I dont know what it is.  It could be a weed for all I know.  I e not seen anything like it before.  Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance. June

    It looks like one of the verbenas. Perhaps verbena rigida?

    Thank you all.  I should have added it is about 4 ft tall with one single stem and now another coming out at the side.  Will be excited to see it flower!
