Pond liner ‘bubbled up’

I finished building a wildlife pond using an underlay and a liner and it’s been fine. But tonight the liner has bubbled up. I have looked at some forums to help but not sure what to do to sort it out. Can anyone help? Thank you

Was the area wet and boggy before the pond was put in?

The water has got under it, lift it out and have a look. How far across your grass does the liner go?

RHS Wisley had the same problem with their new lake , and had to pump it out and start again.

Yes, if it was wet and boggy beforehand it would indicate that the water table in that part of the garden is quite high so the natural water in the ground has taken place over
