What is this plant please?

Please could someone help me identify this plant so I can work out what I can and cant do with it pruning wise?

    Looks like Sisyrinchium. It self seeds like mad and will become a thug in no time. Carefully remove the seed heads but save a few, as new plants grow dig out the old tatty ones.
