Help with plant identification please

Hi  could anyone help identify this plant please. Until recently it had light bluish billowy flowers on the stalks. These have now turned to seed heads and I've been able to gather the seeds easily. I'm wondering firstly what the plant is? And also if I would be able to grow more plants from the seeds successfully without a greenhouse ?

    If left to their own devices, they'll seed around. 
    You can also sow them yourself - no need for any protection.  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    And if you've got different varieties in your garden, the seeds can sometimes pop up an interestingly coloured one :)
