Shasta daisy - wilting leaves help please.

I transplanted a shasta daisy from a 15cm pot into a bigger pot last week using multipurpose compost with slow release fertiliser.  The leaves are now wilting and feel very thin and weak.  Does anyone know what I need to do / what I'm doing wrong?

Here is how it currently looks (poorly I know!).

    Hi
It definitely looks like it needs a good watering
Are you keeping it in doors ?

It wants to be outside, not really an indoor plant. Needs a free-draining soil, where, after watering, the excess water is allowed to drain away and I don’t see any drainage there, like a pot with holes in and plant saucer underneath that you empty after so it doesn’t get a soggy bottom, which it will hate. Is it a new plant you bought then potted on?

Stevedaylilly - Thanks for looking. I keep it outdoors but took it in for a bit because my balcony was so windy today!

Nollie - Thanks for your input. The pot has holes at the bottom of the pot and I put in on a pot stand/trivet out on my balcony so water can drain freely.  The soil is a multipurpose compost.  Should I add perlite/grit?  Should I also be watering every day?

Yes it is a new plant which I potted on, less than 7 days ago... It was so healthy before  :(

Oh good, in that case, it is probably just suffering from a bit of  ‘transplant shock’, it will have been grown in ideal conditions in the nursery/GC and will need a bit of time to acclimatise to it’s new home and recover from repotting. I would try and find a sheltered spot on your balcony, like against the wall, and put it back outside. Water when the top of the compost feels dry, but don’t drown it, shouldn’t need it every day.  It will hopefully perk up in a few days, good luck!

Actually, just checked it was 7 days ago today.

Thanks for the advice Nollie I'll make sure to water it enough.  Fingers crossed it perks up!!

    Hi
I would probably cut back all the wilted growth if it doesn’t perk up
As Nollie mentioned Shasta Daisies do require well drained soil which doesn’t need to be too humus if planted in boarders . As for watering, just check the compost by pressing down your finger to see if it’s moist underneath. I would only water it when the compost is close to drying out
    Hope it recovers

Hi Stevedaylilly, thanks for your post.  I gave it a good watering like you suggested earlier and it's perked up now, so I'm super happy.  Thanks for the advice on pressing my finger down to check if the compost is moist, I'll do that from now on.  Thanks so much  :)
