How much space for growing and propagating

    @GemmaJF ok, perfect, something to practice on. And I can take cuttings at any time right? As in, i don't need to wait for Autumn or something? And if my research up to know is correct, best time to take cuttings is the morning? 
    Yep, early morning is often best as they are more 'turgid' (have more water in them) so are less likely to go floppy. I normally pick a day that is dull overcast if I can for the same reason.

    You might find advice on timing of cuttings, but I'm not overly fussy, I'll give them a go any time, I do a lot late summer and autumn, simply because it is when my propagator is free to house them. If I don't get a lot of success with something, I might then research if there is advice on which month or season is best.

    I've just realised I didn't put my layer of grit on top......Carol Klein would be most disappointed!!
